"Hyundai IX35 AWD - knocking noise coming from front left steering rack. After extensive wheel alignment attempts mechanic pointed out play in the steering rack ball and claw joint (not a technical term, just what it looks like to me). Not sure if this can be repaired/tightened or needs to be replaced but every time I go over a bump the knocking sound/vibration is there and for an all wheel drive car, this is very irritating and I’m afraid could be dangerous. Will source the part myself but need help with the labor of fixing it."
