"I had a problem shifting to 2nd and 4th gears and have since sent it to the panelbeaters to replace the gear linkage cable that was broken. But now the 5th gear is almost impossible to use, and they have said that the entire gear lever housing unit needs to be replaced as the part is plastic and is broken. I have spent alot of money on this car so far but I still want it to work properly."

"Good day, I am just wanting to get an estimate on repairs for my vehicle. It is currently at a mechanic who at this point has only confirmed that the cambelt has snapped, they have not yet taken off the cylinder head to inspect further damage. We received the following from them. Possible work to be done. fit valves and overhaul the cylinder head... gasket set, timing belt kit, and service kit. The car is a 2007 Opel Astra GTC 1.9 CDTi sport. Engine is the Z19DTH. We understand that this would just be an estimate. But if you can give us an estimate on the worst case scenario with the cambelt having snapped and any further possible damage that may have caused. Also if you could please include the costing to replace the front and back brake discs and pads. Regards Kelvin Briant"
