"The car can be driven, the trying to shift gears it is a bit stiff however it is working. If there is a crack in the gearbox can that be fixed what are the various options"

"Battery warning light came on while driving. Lost power to the radio, wipers and windows.Speedometer and other instruments (warning lights) went haywire. Eventually lost acceleration and car stopped. Tried to start and heard growling noise under the bonnet. Eventually drained battery."
