"Good day, I am just wanting to get an estimate on repairs for my vehicle. It is currently at a mechanic who at this point has only confirmed that the cambelt has snapped, they have not yet taken off the cylinder head to inspect further damage. We received the following from them. Possible work to be done. fit valves and overhaul the cylinder head... gasket set, timing belt kit, and service kit. The car is a 2007 Opel Astra GTC 1.9 CDTi sport. Engine is the Z19DTH. We understand that this would just be an estimate. But if you can give us an estimate on the worst case scenario with the cambelt having snapped and any further possible damage that may have caused. "Car Decided to loose power and started making knocking noise from the engine. I towed the car back home. Can can start fine but the noise is still there. I am no longer driving the car.
