We hired Du Toits Mobile Auto to diagnose my sister’s vehicle and paid a substantial deposit to begin the repairs. From that point onwards, communication became increasingly difficult. The mechanic stopped answering calls for an extended period and later claimed he had been hijacked, but there were still repeated delays before he returned to work on the vehicle. After opening the engine, we were told that the timing belt had failed. We were then informed that a lot of additional work would be required, which significantly increased the cost of the repair. Before agreeing to any further work, we simply asked for photos of the replacement parts and invoices showing what had been purchased. Despite asking multiple times, the mechanic refused to provide any invoices. He was also very reluctant to bring the parts to us and only did so after repeated requests. Even then, no proof of purchase was provided. The parts supplied included WIX filters, NGK spark plugs, Bremi ignition components and a FilterPro cabin filter, but without invoices or receipts there was no way for us to verify what had actually been purchased or what we were being charged for. Looking through previous reviews, it was concerning to see that other customers have reported experiences involving changing diagnoses, escalating repair costs, poor communication and disputes over repairs. While every situation is different, our experience unfortunately reflected many of those same concerns. Based on our experience, I strongly recommend that anyone considering this company insists on a detailed written quotation, requests invoices for all parts before making further payments, and keeps all communication in writing. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this business.

Michael was nothing short of magical. He dropped everything and ran to our rescue; my team was stranded in Cape Town and a far way from home. Michael gave us regular updates during the course of Saturday and Sunday as well as giving my team on the ground advise on driving speeds and getting the most out of little H100 work horse. It really was very comforting, and I felt at ease as Michael as our newly appointed mechanic. By Sunday afternoon my team was able to make the long haul back to Jozi leaving Table Mountain in the rearview mirror. Our little H100 was in fantastic hands, and you Mr. Michael Du Toit are an angel sent from above!

Dishonest Mechanic - Overcharged, Poor Service, and No Refund - Avoid at all costs I had an incredibly frustrating experience with Du Toits. Not only did they overcharge me for some basic parts (200 - 300% mark up), but they also failed to provide a refund for a part that their supplier never even had in stock! When he initially checked my vehicle, he promised a quick and efficient solution, but after weeks of back-and-forth, my car's issue is still unresolved. On top of the inflated prices for the parts they did install, they charged me for a part which was essential for the repair, only to find out later that it was out of stock. Despite multiple calls, I have yet to receive a refund for this. The total lack of communication and accountability is shocking. I’m left feeling cheated and deeply dissatisfied. Avoid this place at all costs if you value honest service and transparency

Caution: Du Toits Mobile Auto (Pty) Ltd is involved in *****ulent activities. They request immediate payments, claiming that the transferred money doesn't reflect in their bank account. Subsequently, they insist on cash payments, promising a refund once the funds are verified. However, after a few days, they fail to reimburse the full amount and assert that the originally quoted sum has increased. Exercise extreme caution when dealing with them.

Michael did an excellent job at replacing and fixing my worn brake discs and pads for my Land Rover Disco 3. He is super efficient, knowledgable and friendly. I highly recommend his mobile service. Also great that the repairs can be done from your own home.

The mechanic came out and done diagnoses on the car,however he claimed he know what is the mistake. After the work was done there was still a noise on the car after I paid 4750 to have the car fixed. The mechanic then told me he thought it was the belt however jit is my water pump and quoted me to have the water pump replaced. The car still has the noise.

I was stuck in the middle of a busy road, in peak hour traffic, with my Jeep when Michael and his wife stopped. In a flash he told me what was broken, hooked up the tow rope and towed me home. It was an unbelievable experience to see the care that he had for someone that he does not know from anywhere. If you want great service and meet a caring person I would recommend without a seconds hesitation that you use Michael. Thank you Michael!!
